Why I Started My Freelance Marketing Business: A New Year, A New Venture
As 2025 kicks off, I’m so excited to share some big news: I’ve officially launched my own business as a freelance marketing specialist. This isn’t just a career move for me — it’s the start of a brand-new adventure, one that’s been shaped by years of experience, growth, and a real passion for helping businesses share their stories and reach their goals.
Looking back, my journey has been anything but ordinary. I’ve been lucky to work in both client-side and agency-side roles, teaming up with businesses of all sizes — from savvy entrepreneurs to one of Australia’s largest privately-owned companies. Each role taught me something new about how powerful marketing and branding can be when it’s done right.
On the client side, I’ve dived into industries like climate tech, SaaS, global HR technology, and homebuilding and remodeling services. Whether it was brainstorming campaigns for startups or navigating growing pains for well-established companies, every experience has added another layer to my understanding of what makes businesses tick and brands thrive.
On the agency side, I’ve had the chance to work with a wide variety of clients, from small nonprofits bursting with ideas to industry heavyweights leading the way and staying relevant. It was definitely a crash course in adaptability, creativity, and making every campaign count.
So, why freelancing? Honestly, I’ve realised that what I love most about marketing is building connections — with businesses, with audiences, and with ideas that inspire action. By stepping out on my own, I get to work more closely with clients, creating strategies that are not just effective but also genuinely meaningful to them and aligned with their greater ambitions.
